Reading Your Bible but Not Getting Much Out of It?

If spending time in God’s Word secretly feels like a chore (not an exciting adventure), you’re missing out! Discover how to study, understand, and apply God’s Word so you truly grow closer to God, not just check it off your list.

Live on Zoom | October 22nd, 7pm EDT | Free to attend (Replay available)

Don’t Just Read the Bible. Understand What It Means.

Tell me if this sounds familiar: You finally find time to sit down with your Bible and a cup of coffee. Life is crazy, but reading God’s Word is important, and you want to make it a priority.

So you start reading. But halfway through, your mind wanders to the grocery list, that email you forgot to answer, or what’s for dinner… By lunch, you can’t remember a single thing you read.

You’re trying to show up faithfully, but honestly, nothing’s really changing. And it’s hard to stay motivated to read the Bible consistently when you’re not getting anything out of it.

Meanwhile, your favorite Bible study teacher, author, or podcast host pulls one amazing insight after another out of a passage you’ve read a dozen times. It all makes sense when they explain it.

Frustrated, you stick to relying on other people’s interpretations of Scripture (pre-written Bible studies, devotionals, or sermons), rather than going straight to God’s Word yourself.

Here’s the good news: Understanding the Bible isn’t reserved for a spiritually gifted few. God gave you His Word (and His Spirit) to guide you, and studying it is a skill you can learn.

In this workshop, I’ll show you how to understand God’s Word for yourself, uncover insights you’ve never noticed (even in verses you’ve known for years!), and see what it means for your life.

Understand God’s Word: How to Study the Bible and Know What It Means for You

Read Gods Word Workshop

Here’s What You’ll Learn:

  • The simple, step-by-step process I use to study any passage or question for myself
  • How to use devotionals, Bible studies, and podcasts without letting them replace God’s Word
  • Why a verse you’ve quoted for years might mean something completely different than you think
  • How to go deeper in God’s Word, even when you only have a few minutes
  • How to understand what you’re reading in the Bible (even when it feels confusing or boring)
  • How to put what you read into practice… so it sticks with you long after you close your Bible

This Isn’t Just Information. It’s Implementation.

In one hour, we’ll study a passage of Scripture together, step by step, so you walk away with an easy, repeatable process you can use to better understand any passage or question. (Bring your Bible and a pen. You’ll need them!)

Hi, I’m Brittany Ann!

As the granddaughter of a pastor and the daughter of the church pianist, I grew up in church, hearing the Bible preached 3-4 times per week. I was very involved in Awana, Bible quizzing, and youth group. I even graduated with honors from a top-rated Bible college.

So you can imagine my surprise when, after a conversation with my mother-in-law and some in-depth Bible research, I realized that much of what I had been taught about the Bible wasn’t actually biblical at all. (It was unsettling.)

Ever since, I’ve been a HUGE advocate for learning how to read the Bible for yourself. Not that you never use outside sources, but so that you can hear from God directly through His Word, experience the joy of Bible study, and know when something you hear isn’t *quite* biblical.

Today, I’m an ECPA bestselling author, founder of Equipping Godly Women, and busy mom of four. I know you need a process that fits your real life. Let me show you what works!

Frequently Asked Questions

Not at all! Reading the Bible and studying it are two different skills. I grew up in church and graduated from Bible college, and I still had to learn how to study God’s Word for myself. Whether you’re new or experienced with reading the Bible, if you’re new to studying the Bible, you’ll want to know this simple, repeatable process.

Pre-written Bible studies and devotionals share someone else’s insights about Scripture. They’re helpful! But you’re getting the information secondhand (and you have to hope someone wrote on the exact topic you need).

This workshop teaches you how to study God’s Word for yourself, so you can understand any passage or question whether or not you use additional resources to inform your study as well.

As long or as short as you want it to. Some days, you might dig deep into a passage. Other days, you might only have a few minutes. The process works either way, so you can go deeper in God’s Word no matter how busy your season is.

No, I won’t tell you what to believe. That’s not my job. This workshop covers the process of studying the Bible, not which conclusions to reach. It works for any and every Christian denomination, and you’re welcome (and encouraged!) to use trusted resources from your own church tradition alongside it.

Yes! This is a live, hands-on workshop on Zoom, Thursday, October 22nd, at 7pm EDT. If that time doesn’t work where you live, don’t worry. The free replay will be available for 24 hours after the live workshop.

Need more time? You’ll have the option to purchase the Implementation Kit after you sign up. It includes lifetime access as well as additional resources to make studying the Bible easier, faster, and more enjoyable.
