As the granddaughter of a Protestant pastor and daughter of the church pianist, I’ve grown up in church my entire life. I was in Awana, Bible quizzing, and youth group… all of it.

After graduating from a top-rated Bible college, I thought I knew my Bible backwards and forwards. I’d certainly read it and been around it enough!

But it was only after I married my Catholic husband that I started really studying the Bible for myself, in a way I never had before.

I wanted to know: “How could we read the same verses and come to such different conclusions?” And, more importantly: “How should I understand the Bible’s words today??”
