Most people in everyday life aren’t very open about their faith or personal beliefs. But imagine being in the spotlight 24/7! Despite the scrutiny that comes with being famous, these 12 celebrities are open and vocal about their faith in God.

These men and women use their faith to spread the message of hope and show that believing in something bigger than yourself can be a source of strength and joy.

So let’s celebrate these 12 stars who stay true to their Christian values, reminding us that being ourselves and following our beliefs is something to be proud of, no matter where we are or what we do.

1. Chris Pratt

Chris Pratt is best known for his roles as Star-Lord in the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy and dinosaur trainer Owen Grady in the Jurassic World movie series. Besides his upstanding character, it’s his words of wisdom and encouragement offscreen that have made his faith in God obvious.

When he spoke at Disneyland’s annual Christmas celebration in 2018, he wowed viewers with his heartfelt testimony on Jesus’s birth.

And, during the same year at the MTV Movie and TV Awards, Pratt said in his award-winning speech, “God is real. God loves you. God wants the best for you. Believe that. I do.”

2. Kathy Lee Gifford

“My entire family came to faith through eternity through Billy [Graham],” says Gifford, a four-time Emmy award-winner.

And her latest project, “The Way” has Gifford speaking even more openly about her faith.

“I just want people to know him [Jesus] personally,” she says. “I want them to understand that they shouldn’t be afraid of him, they should welcome his presence into their life. He’s the answer to all their prayers.”

3. Tim Tebow

Tim Tebow has always been outspoken about his faith. From his time at the University of Florida where he won the Heisman trophy, to his time as a professional football and baseball player, Tebow has always been vocal about the role God has played in his life.

“I want to stand up for what’s right. I want to stand up for good things. I want to stand up for Jesus. I want to stand up for life. I want to stand up for all these good things.”

4. Carrie Underwood

After three miscarriages in two years, country music sensation Carrie Underwood went through a stern test of her faith. She revealed how reaching out to God helped her before falling pregnant for the fourth time. She now has a beautiful little boy.

Of course, no one is surprised to hear that Carrie Underwood is a Christian. She’s well-known for her song “Jesus Take the Wheel” as well as a variety of hymns and traditional Christian songs she’s covered.

5. Denzel Washington

While money certainly isn’t a problem for the beloved actor whom the New York Times calls the ‘greatest actor of the 21st Century,’ Washington is adamant about his faith and giving back to those in need. An avid philanthropist, Washington shares his Christian faith whenever he can.

“Through my work, I have spoken to millions of people. In 2015, I said I’m no longer just going to speak through my work. I’m going to make a conscious effort to get up and speak about what God has done for me.”

6. Mark Wahlberg

Mark Wahlberg is an accomplished actor and former model and rapper. He has been quoted saying that his goal in life is “to utilize my career for good and to do God’s work.”

Wahlberg has endorsed a prayer app called Hallow which offers audio-guided meditation sessions to help others grow in their faith. He has also invested his own money in creating the new film “Father Stu” (2022) because he wants his films to make a difference in people’s lives.

7. Ye (Formerly Known as Kanye West)

The outspoken rapper/philosopher is rarely lost for words, and his profound faith in God is there for all to see. On Kanye’s Jesus is King album, he sings: “There is freedom from addiction; Jesus, You have my soul; Sunday Service on a roll; All my idols, let ’em go.” There is no denying where Ye’s affiliation lies.

8. Faith Hill

Faith Hill, a 5-time Grammy-winning country singer/songwriter, has been open about her religious beliefs since she began her career back in 1993. Her roots run deep, starting with her singing as a child in her family’s Baptist church.

In fact, Hill says this about her faith, “That’s where my strength comes from. It’s my foundation. I was raised in a Christian home and it prepared me to deal with life on my own.”

9. Stephen Colbert

Former comedian and current late-night chat show host Stephen Colbert has always been up-front about his faith.

When asked on his show whether comedy and faith overlap, Colbert replied, “Ultimately, us all being mortal, the faith will win out in the end. But I certainly hope when I get to heaven, Jesus has a sense of humor.”

10. Candace Cameron Bure

Candace Cameron Bure is an American actress, producer, director, and talk show panelist best known for her role as D.J. Tanner in the popular sitcom Full House. She became a Christian at the age of 12 and hasn’t shied away from sharing her faith since.

Bure is also a supporter of Compassion International where their family sponsors three children.

11. Russell Wilson

Quarterback Russell Wilson has previously played for the Seattle Seahawks but now plays for the Denver Broncos. In regards to his relationship with his now wife, singer Ciara, the NFL player said that God was the reason they weren’t physically intimate before marriage.

Wilson opened up to an ESPN report about how he felt God called him to be a leader to Ciara and that they should do things Jesus’ way. Since then, Wilson has been vocal about putting God first in all that he does.

12. Reba McEntire

Country singer sensation Reba McEntire states, “I ask the Lord to give me wisdom when I speak, when I think, and I always try to be positive and say nice things, and it gives me strength throughout every minute and every day.”
